Sauntell Jenkins named new CEO of THAW

DETROIT, Mich., October 17, 2014 — The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) has announced the name of its new CEO, Saunteel A. Jenkins. The selection was decided unanimously by the THAW Board of Directors.

Jenkins has served as a member of the Detroit City Council since January 2010. Her background includes extensive experience in social work, community health, education, and government. She will officially take over duties of CEO of THAW effective November 10, 2014. “Saunteel has spent much of her career engaging and helping at-risk people in the City of Detroit”, said Mark Stiers, President of the THAW Board of Directors. “Her experience and passion deeply impressed members of the Board. She’ll provide excellent leadership to our staff as we continue to serve and assist in communities across Michigan”

Her appointment was arrived at after a formal search conducted by DHR International as well as candidate interviews by the Leadership Development Committee of the Board of Directors as well as members of the THAW Executive Committee.

In her role, Jenkins will lead the organization which assists thousands of individuals annually throughout the state, providing energy assistance as well as other support services for lowincome households.
