September 28, 2026 THAW Welcomes the Community to New Detroit Headquarters
he Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) recently celebrated the opening of its new Detroit headquarters with two special events that brought together community leaders, partners, supporters and residents to learn more about THAW’s work and the resources available to the community.
On Wednesday, September 23, THAW welcomed community and government partners to a Cocktail Reception Grand Opening, providing an opportunity for board members, city council members, commissioners, state representatives and other community leaders to tour the new office space and learn more about how THAW is working to help individuals and families throughout the region.
The new office provides THAW with a dedicated space to connect with partners and serve the community as the organization continues its work to stabilize, protect and empower Michigan residents.
“We were excited to open our doors and welcome the partners who help make this work possible,” said THAW CEO Katrina McCree. “This new space represents another step forward in our ability to connect people with the support, resources and opportunities they need.”
On Thursday, September 24, THAW opened its doors again, this time welcoming the community to its Grand Opening. Residents had the opportunity to tour the new space, meet THAW team members and learn more about the organization’s programs and services.
Community members were able to connect directly with THAW staff, receive information about available resources and learn more about utility assistance and other services designed to help individuals and families navigate challenges and take their next steps toward greater stability.
The two-day celebration highlighted what the new THAW office represents: a place where people can connect with resources, find support and build pathways toward a more stable future.
THAW looks forward to continuing to welcome community members, partners and supporters to its new home and expanding its impact across the communities it serves.
