Last day for May Days of Giving; donate to your favorite nonprofit today
Local nonprofits taking part in Crain’s annual Giving Guide are raising awareness of their missions — and raising much-needed funds — through the second annual May Days of Giving online fundraising campaign.
Crain’s created the May Days event in 2020 as a timely way to help Michigan nonprofits, who were in triage mode after canceling events and other fundraising efforts because of the pandemic. It was, literally, a mayday for help for these organizations.
The inaugural event raised $82,312 from 379 donors for 32 nonprofits. This year, 40 nonprofits are taking part.
As of Monday, 154 donors had given $35,279. The Heat and Warmth Fund led the fundraising leaderboard with $9,937 raised from 104 donors.
