Consumers Energy customers facing hardships paying energy bills can call 211 to be connected with help.
Consumers is setting aside $2 million for its CARE program to help Michiganders with monthly bill credits, past-due balance forgiveness and in-home energy efficient upgrades.

Customers who call 211 will connect with one of four nonprofit groups distributing the dollars: United Way of Jackson County, TrueNorth Community Services, The Salvation Army and The Heat and Warmth Fund.
