Impacting Health through Energy Assistance to Low-Income (iHEAL) Families is an energy assistance program designed to help individuals who have health conditions that are affected by the weather or who use home medical equipment or life support system that runs on electricity or natural gas. This program is for DTE Energy customers.

Eligibility Requirements

  • This program is for DTE Energy customers.
  • The account must be residential (not a commercial account).
  • Accounts must have a past due balance.
  • Applicant must pay unauthorized usage charges and security fees.
  • The account must be in the applicant’s name. If the account is not in the applicant’s name, he/she must accept responsibility for the bill with a valid ID or driver’s license, and submit the following items with the application:
    • all required documents needed to process the application
    • a signed letter from the account holder granting permission to apply on their behalf.

Income Requirements

Eligible households must be at or below 150% FPL. The following 2017 guidelines for monthly household income will be in effect:
